Excursion to Valetta
The second excursion included in our course programme was a trip to Valetta. After a guided tour of the city and a visit to St. John's Co-Cathedral with the famous painting depicting The Beheading of Saint John the Baptist (1608) by Caravaggio, we had some free time in Valetta to go sightseeing on our own, go swimming, or go shopping. With its many souvenir and arts & crafts shops Valetta offers lots of opportunities to spend some Euros. Especially famous is the beautiful silver jewellery and glass. In the evening we went to a special restaurant where we were shown how the famous ftira is made.
